Five crew? Does it really need that many?
Driver, commander, loader, gunner, radio operator. Oh, never mind.

Same as a regular Jagdpanther. :D

One of those would need to man the MG.

Ever seen Strikers 1945? This reminds me a ton of a boss from that.

The link didn't work at first, but I fixed it sort of and then managed to look at it properly.

Yes, that boss, also one of my favorites in the game. I like your Jagdpanther more because of that.

I like this one; maybe a multiped-version of the Schwerer Gustav could be next?

Thinking about it. But the idea has already been done in Konami's RIng of Red game for PS2. Epic boss. Fired nuclear shells that would wipe out all your ground forces in one attack.

We do have a Karl morser decapod design. Which I apparently never uploaded...
not quite the same, but still a honkin' big gun.

If you cruise my "weird war II" favorites folder, you'll see a lot more good stuff in the genre here on DA. Planes and other stuff, but plenty of cool mechs too. ;)

As a fan of the German tank line, it's practically OBLIGATORY for me to mention just how fucking awesome this is. XD

Ignoring the fact that it's a German tank body: Still fucking awesome.

Bloody good work!

No doubt!

Hey, I just realized how cool it would be if you did WWII transformers; Optimus as an M26 Dragon Wagon, Starcream as a Bf 109, Megatron as an 88mm field gun (or a JagdTiger)...

Err.. wait, maybe I already mentioned that w/ you before. Memory sucks. Totally badass idea anyway.
There goes my afternoon work focus...

I actually started a doodle the other day of Skywarp as a Messerschmitt Bf 109. I have really wanted to do retro transformers lately so yeah... and Optimus as a M26 Dragon Wagon would be very cool indeed :D

Seriously? That's music to my ears!
Naturally, I hope you take that retro hankering all the way. :fingerscrossed:

I'm a little stumped about how to do an Optimus M26. I mean the chest piece is awesome, but there's no mass left after that. Probably not a huge conundrum for a well versed transformer artist.
I guess the trailer could aways be included in the body, and not be separate entity. Sorry, just thinking aloud...

He sits w/ the 88mm cannon on his right side. He's behind that little periscope on the port side of the front glacis plate. Not exactly comfy. Breech eats up most interior space. Then there's ammo storage for those huge shells...

I bet an 88mm shell could still wreck a Tachikoma. But this old beast could never catch one. They'd just glue his legs together w/ their synthetic spider goo... or something.

Indeed, and having the Eng voice actor for Kari helps too, shes got the cutest voice, and a wide range to encompass all the Tachikoma's.

Yeah but look how pretty all the technical details are: vision ports, exhaust fans, hatches... I'd never have the patience to draw it all by hand! All looks perfectly accurate. It's a bang-on Jagdpanther body. And the legs are nicely balanced w/ everything else.

This is not the only beauty sitting in my hard drive. There are lots of treasures I need to capitalize on.

Out of curiosity... did you ever model a traditional tracked Jagdpanther?

New computer loves sketchup ver.8, BTW. No slowdown at all. Not like old computer. I could do this in one night/sitting. Makes life much easier.

When I think of it I've been pretty lazy the last year...meh.
Never did a tracked Jagdpanther, but I have model of normal panther with tracks, so adding these to the jagdpanther shouldn't be aproblem (if they had the same tracks and not a different wheel configuration).
Nice to hear you sketchup 8 runs on your new machine! helps a lot to play with them models. Got a new laptop as well, still stuff to be done till its fully useable, but i am eager to see how fast sketchup and vray/kerkythea work on it...
BTW. how was christmas? Stuffed'n happy?

Pretty sure panther tracks/wheels are fully compatible w/ jagdpanther body. It was built on the panther chassis after all. But given the choice between showing multiped and tracked versions, would go multiped. Just curious whether it [tracked jagdpanther model] was another finished machine for the OPDS archive.

New laptop sounds great! Looking forward to seeing how it assists your creative work. New computers these days are really impressive.
-Just got back from visiting old college friends for New Years Eve celebrations. Sort of a tradition. Everyone else is having kids now. We had one couple missing because they'll be having a baby very soon and couldn't make the long trip... but through the magic of Skype we all hung out 'virtually' so it was like being all together after all. Saw 3D images of baby in-utero. It was a freakin' feel-good technology bonanza! Clinking champagne glasses against computer cameras. Super dorky, but great fun.

Very stuffed. Very tired from long drives. Very happy. Got lots of exercise ahead to make up for overeating/overdrinking.
How was your Holiday?
