No worries, Tom. I've been struggling lately to keep up w/ all my correspondence.
There's no one around here to ask for creative input, so I feel a bit dependent on DA pals for feedback. Also need to consider that my tastes don't always fly for everyone else.
My fave options can be defined by an "L" shape composed of B, A, and E. Not necessarily in that order, though; I think the two blues are probably my favorites. I'm not sure why, and part of that might just have to do with an aesthetic bias towards blue...But I also think those color schemes lend something to the overall design, or rather compliment it. I think that's it--they seem consistent with the slick stylization of the designs themselves...The closest real-world equivalent I can think of is something like ski boots or even lycra speed-skating outfits! Just that cool (in temperature), slick, streamlined sort of quality I associate with "extreme sports," and which seems consistent with these mech designs. As far as A, I prefer this bluish-gray "off-white" color scheme to the wholly white C. Just feels more subdued, more...I'm not sure how to put it, "classy" almost. Understated. I prefer the color highlights on this one as well (as compared with C), though I'd be curious to see the sword highlights echo some of the highlights on the suit itself rather than being a different color entirely.
So that's it, that's about all I got! As always, I'm sure any of these would render up nicely, but those three are definitely my faves. These are looking great, Rob...I hope that helps!
It really does help, Tom. Thanks for the input. In terms of popular opinion, A & E are tied for most popular options. Personally, was leaning towards C -since it seemed the most sophisticated to me. A might have been my original favorite tho. Something about E strikes me as not right for the main hero's vehicle. Someone said Police-like, which might be it. I'll no doubt use it on another vehicle tho. Good call on the extreme sports equipment comment. I think that's the right vibe. Speed and performance being the emphasis there.
Deciding is particularly tough, because this is one of a series, and I'd like to have some consistency across the board for the 'good guys' War Skins. For example if I used A, then subsequent WSs would have similar metallic base color, but accents like F or H. E could be adapted to this end tho.
Another strong argument for A is that a metallic base color makes sense for the whole Knight theme. It would be great if I could master a finish that has the appeal of a silver sports car like the Nissan GTR [link] or an Aston Martin DBS [link] Maybe getting in over my head tho.
Thanks again for your thoughts, Tom! (The villains are easier!!)
